Pachinko Japan

All about Pachinko

Pachinko is a pinball-like game and it is very popular in Japan and can also be found in casinos in the United States. Pachinko originated from the Japanese word pachi-pachi which means clicking of small object or crackling of fire.

The beginnings of pachinko are still a mystery to the modern world. One theory of the game's origin is that is most likely to have descended from Coringth Game, a game that originated in Chicago. In the early 1920's the game debuted in Japan, and from then on the first Pachinko venue was opened in Osaka Prefecture.

The founder of the modern pachinko, Takeichi Masamura, developed the Masamura Gauge, which is an arrangement of nails that in turn became the foundation of many of the modern pachinko machines. With the development of computers in the 80's, the makers of pachinko machines incorporated the technology which features sounds and graphics that definitely made the machine and the game more appealing and exciting.

The pachinko machine is comparable to the modern pinball. Steel balls are shot on the playing surface of the machine were they go around and through a series of nails. The objective is to direct the balls into pockets. Once the ball lands into these winning pockets, the player will receive more balls equivalent to a certain prize or cash pay out. The player has the control on the speed on how the balls were shot. The movement and direction of these steel balls rely primarily on luck and winning the prize is dictated by chance.

The pachinko machine operates when the player inserts money into it. The steel balls are then dropped into a loading spot after purchasing them. The knobs should be pulled in order to release a ball. Springs help the handle knob in releasing the ball, and the harder the player pulls the knob the better he can control the speed. Sometimes, when a player is not lucky enough, the balls would fall through the pins to the bottom. A successful launch of these steel balls would activate a slot machine with a corresponding reward of a set of steel balls. If three matching symbols come up on the reels of the slot machine, the prize is even better.

Pachinko is still popular in Japan and has a growing following in the United Stated. Some casinos in Nevada have pachinko machines and players find it as an alternative game aside from the playing the usual slot machine. Without a doubt that soon Pachinko will be an additional house favorite in casinos.
